Exhibitions, folk dance: Stage set for mega Chhattisgarh Foundation Day event

Preparations are in full swing for the grand celebration of Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day, Rajyotsava 2024, scheduled from November 4 to November 6 at the Rajyotsava venue in Naya Raipur, Atal Nagar.
The annual celebration honours the state’s formation and showcases its cultural and developmental achievements.
Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh and became a separate state on November 1, 2000 and the day is celebrated as Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day Rajyotsav every year.
However, due to the festival of Diwali on October 31, the Rajyotsav will take place between November 4 and 6 this year.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the festivities on November 4, with the programme presided over by his Chhattisgarh counterpart Vishnu Dev Sai.
The inauguration ceremony will also be graced by Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh. On November 5, Governor Ramen Deka will take the lead for the day’s ceremonies.
A diverse lineup of cultural programmes is planned, featuring performances by renowned artists from the state and outside. Kicking off on November 4, attendees will enjoy a variety of folk dances and a special performance by Bollywood playback singer Shantanu Mukherjee (Shaan).
Cultural activities will continue on November 5 with presentations like ‘Lahar Ganga’ and performances by artists, including Rajesh Awasthi and Neeti Mohan. The final day will spotlight Anurag Star Night and acts like India’s Got Talent Mallakhamb.
In addition to the cultural offerings, the Rajyotsav event will showcase a development exhibition organised by various government departments.
A Shilp Gram (arts and crafts complex) will display and sell Chhattisgarh’s crafts, while hangars will feature government and commercial exhibitions.
Additionally, attractions like the Food Court and Meena Bazaar promise to engage all attendees. This celebration not only commemorates Chhattisgarh’s statehood but also highlights its rich cultural tapestry and developmental strides, wooing locals and visitors alike to attend the event.
The Rajyotsav will culminate on November 6 with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attending the State Decoration Ceremony and the closing event, with various dignitaries including Chief Minister Sai in attendance.
