    East Arlington, Vermont, 20th Century raised feather carving. This cute brown, white, and black colored bird waits on its driftwood branch. It is only 4" high, 4" wide, and 11" long. Signed on underside "Spotted Sandpiper by P. Zeller".
    Phillip Zeller was very familiar with the shores of Cape Cod, akin to master carver A. Elmer Crowell. Zeller exhibited for several years at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's annual Birds in Art Exhibit in Wausau, Wisconsin. His entry from 1979, a kingfisher, was selected for the Smithsonian Institution in 1980.
