You are bidding on a 1969 Philadelphia Mint Franklin D. Roosevelt Dime (ten cents) that has two very deep grooves in the torch of the reverse of the coin.
The torch is often a theme throughout history i.e. the Olympic Torch, the New York University Torch of Learning, the Torch that the Statue of Liberty is holding, etc...
In this particular case, the torch on the reverse of the dime has two very deep grooves at the top left-hand side of the torch (or flame) at a 45 degree angle (see photos).
The book "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change" (4th edition, 2013) shows the errors with clarity.

Just a Recap:

two very deep grooves in the flame of the torch
that appears on the reverse of the coin.
It was difficult to photograph this coin error. I guarantee that what you will receive is a genuine coin error.
Please know what you are bidding on!
If you are not completely pleased with your purchase, I will cheerfully refund your money. I have put a 14-day moneyback guarantee on this auction.
If you are buying this dime coin variety to have it graded and slabbed, I might mention that this coin may have been cleaned at some point -- I do not know for sure.
But I can tell you that if it was cleaned, it was cleaned properly. One thing is for certain, there's no evidence of harsh or improper cleaning as you can see from the photos. The coin is a bright silver color. Despite its nicks and scrapes, the coin has nice eye appeal.
I broke this coin out of its 2x2 paper flip and have no idea of its provenance.
This 1969 (P) Roosevelt dime up for auction is well circulated but in very fine condition.
This dime with the error in the flame of the torch doesn't come up for auction very often. I have not seen any sales of this particular error coin here on eBay.
The book "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change" lists some prices of this coin error-- for circulated, for almost uncirculated HOWEVER, that book was printed in 2013. The prices of rare coin errors has increased quite a bit since 2013, so don't be surprised if you experience a lively bidding environment north of . At any rate, this particular error is well known to many collectors.
If you are interested in bidding, you might end up getting a real bargain because it is mid-July and not many people are buying right now. Many collectors are outdoors and at the beach and are not actively searching and bidding on items. The summer slowdown is in full force and it is a good time to be a buyer. Just my 2 cents!
