  • Condition: Very Good Condition! This large sculpture of two male mountain goats (rams) fighting was hand carved of ironwood by an indigenous artist in Mexcico. This wood is notoriously difficult to work. There are many different textures including the natural rough wood used in the base, the heavily detailed horns and coat, and the beautiful finished wood. There are a deep reddish brown tones throughout, as seen in the smooth finished areas. It measures approximately 12.25" H x 13.5" L x 6.75" D. It is not signed. This has been assembled in what looks like 3 different pieces- each ram was carved of solid wood and then attached to the base. The glue used is brown and blends in with the wood. There is some distressing to the base. This is shown in a museum case being sold separately in the shop as a suggestion, but this listing is for the sculpture only.
